Anzac Commemoration Event 2023

The Mt Lofty Districts Historical Society invite you to join us on Thursday 20th April, for an ANZAC commemoration event at the Coventry Library in Stirling.

Harry McGregor and Dr Tony Stimson will both make presentations.

2023 AGM and “Footy” Presentation

This year’s Annual General Meeting will include a presentation by Chris Chardon about “Footy in the Hills”. Chris is well qualified to speak on this subject and will bring to light the results of his knowledge and research.

AGM Deferred

Please note that the Annual General Meeting of the Mt. Lofty Districts Historical Society, previously scheduled for Friday 3rd March, has been deferred until Friday 24th March.

All other details remain the same and we look forward to Chris Chardon presenting the history of Australian Rules Football in the district.

Visit to Macclesfield ANZAC Memorial Garden

You are invited to our next event which includes a visit to the Macclesfield ANZAC Memorial Garden, Lunch and a talk at the local RSL.

If you have not seen this memorial before, it has a very diverse and picturesque layout with all sorts of interesting memorial items scattered through an attractive native garden.

“Murder at Christmas”- it’s back!

The previously highly anticipated presentation by Dr Anthony Stimson, which was postponed due to COVID-19, is now back on our calendar in early August. Real-life drama in our own neighbourhood, now mostly forgotten but set to be revived at this year’s Frank Hurren Memorial presentation.

This will be a popular event and RSVPs are essential
