Flinders 1814 Map of Australia
A photocopy of the first map of Australia after Matthew Flinders had circumnavigated and mapped the coastline. First published in 1814, the original map is in the State Library of New South Wales. Flinders said that he called the whole country Australia or Terra Australis. This is a photocopy of the map which was re-published in The Australian newspaper.

The book was published by the Wakefield Press in association with The Jubilee 150 Local Government Executive Committee. It consists of 696 pages of the history of South Australian councils and cities.This is the first page for The District Council of Stirling.
