Frank attended Crafers Primary School and was a gardener by occupation. He enlisted for service in August 1915 aged 26. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Private Schantz, number 2783, Unit embarked from Adelaide, South Australia, on board <em>HMAT A24 Benalla<\/em> on 27 October 1915. He served in the 10<sup>th<\/sup> Infantry Battalion in France and lost his life in Belgium on 20<sup>th<\/sup> September 1917.
